Jana Peterson

HOMETOWN: Townsville, Qld.
BIRTHDAY: February 10, 1987.
DRINK OF CHOICE: “Vodka, lime, and soda. I do love a good cocktail as well. And if we’re doing shots, a wet pussy.”
FLOOR WORK: “Everyone calls me an ‘RSL Dancer’. But I really get into it – I’m currently sporting a black and purple knee and an arm injury that doesn’t allow me to bend my elbow 90-degrees.”
FAVOURITE REALITY SHOW: “I’m pretty into them. I’ve been watching Wife Swap lately and I love it – it’s so funny to see how some people live.”
SECRET SKILL: “I’ll tell you what: I make a mean Vegemite sandwich. I have a feeling it helps John play better.”

So what is WAG Nation?
It’s a reality show about five partners of elite athletes and it just follows our everyday lives – professionally and personally.

Do you all hang out on the show?
Definitely. We all go out to dinner and show up together at glamorous events. We still talk and text now.

What’s it like having your life filmed?
The first couple of weeks was tough. It’s hard to be yourself when there’s a camera in your face or following you down the street. But I had a blast. We filmed for months and by the end I was really close with the crew and producers.

We are seeing you, then, and not a character?
I had a talk with [Jana’s partner, Cronulla Sharks winger] John [Williams] and we agreed that I should just be myself. A lot of reality shows get caught when people pretend to be someone else or try to hide stuff, but you’ll see me without make-up and in daggy pyjamas and there are times when I make a fool of myself.
