Go with the EcoFlow

If you love making the most of this beautiful country and getting out bush, then EcoFlow is ready to power your adventure.

At Maxim, we’ve been fans of EcoFlow for quite some time. The company has earned a reputation for producing quality products, mostly in the portable power station space. Powerful, durable and feature-rich, we’ve been using them for years on our camping trips to do everything from power lights to charging phones, fridges, toasters and more. As well as get through the odd blackout at home.

The company’s 2025 line-up builds on this strong foundation, offering more flexibility and improved efficiency for those who want power on the road – be it for camping, worksites or hobbies like drones – or back-up power for homes under threat from natural disasters. Three models in particular standout.

RIVER 3 Max

The entry level power station from EcoFlow is the RIVER series. It comes in three variants; the RIVER 3 (245Wh), the RIVER 3 Plus (286Wh) or the RIVER 3 Max (572Wh). We’re a fan of the latter, as despite the big bump up in capacity, it remains under $800 here in Australia, or even cheaper if you can pounce on one of the Member Festival sales.

The modular design effectively takes the RIVER 3 Plus and allows you to “max” it out with an attachable extra battery. It gives it a quirky, unique look, but it’s all about functionality.

The RIVER Max 3 provides the ability to take a more compact power station with you for day-trips, or up the capacity if you want to get off-grid for a little bit longer, or charge something a bit more power demanding than a laptop or phone. You’re getting that great EcoFlow safety through the X-Guard battery management system (BMS) and LiFePO₄ technology, too.

The design is lightweight, with a solid carry handle and lovely flat surface making it easy to pack away. It has two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports (100W and 140W), an AC power point, a DC “cigarette lighter” port, and is capable of accepting 220W of solar charging. It can output 600W of power simultaneously, charge in 90-minutes and is quiet at just 30dB.

The RIVER 3 Max is handy, portable and capable.

Did You Know

EcoFlow also has an alternator charger accessory, which allows you to turn your power station into a second battery for your 4WD that fast-charges as you drive.

DELTA 3 Plus

The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus is a mid-sized power station that is perfect for weekend warriors. If you like getting off grid for a few days, its 1024Wh capacity will give you enough juice to keep your beers cold in a portable fridge, run your lights and keep your stereo charged without fuss. Or, should you need it, a CPAP machine. It has a 1800W output, too, so it’s capable of running most appliances. Plus, it can handle a 3600W surge.

The DELTA 3 Plus is quiet at only 30db, can be fast-charged in under an hour, offers app connectivity and is even IP65 rated, so it can survive a few rough encounters with the elements. It’s a safer option, too, with the X-Guard BMS and improved LiFePO₄ architecture in play.

The design is simple, but purposeful. Four Australian AC power point ports adorn the front, beneath an easy-to-read LED screen. Elsewhere you’ll find two 140W USB-C ports, two fast-charge USB-A ports, a 12V “cigarette lighter” port, two additional 12V light ports and a solar power port that can be directly connected to panels without the need for an inverter.

For additional flexibility, the Delta 3 Plus can be daisy-chained to up to four additional DELTA 3 Plus power stations. Handy for rural Aussies who want a genuine back-up power solution for their isolated homesteads.

Did You Know

The EcoFlow solar panels have a flexible design that helps them not only pack away easily, but mould over surfaces to maximise light conversion.

DELTA Pro 3

If you’re after a serious power station, that’ll let you go off-grid for a week or more, or run a house with ease in the case of a blackout, then you want to step it up to the DELTA Pro 3. This thing is a beast! With a whopping 4096Wh capacity, it can supply 4000W of continuous output, allowing you to run multiple appliances simultaneously.

In line with the rest of the EcoFlow family, you get the safety of a LiFePO₄ system, watched over by the company’s X-Guard BMS and protected by an IP65 weather rating and a 5-year warranty. It’s still quiet, too, at just 30dB and has the app support. Despite its capacity, you can charge to 80% in an hour.

Make no mistake though, the DELTA Pro 3 is huge, coming in over 50kg. The built-in wheels and extendable handle do give it some manoeuvrability, but it’s primarily built to be a highly flexible back-up power supply for homes or RVs. It can take in a whopping 2600W of solar, and can be daisy-chained to expandable batteries that are stackable on top of its flat surface. Plus, it has a sub 10ms kick-in time if you have a blackout, ensuring continuous power without loss.

In terms of ports, expect 5 AC outlets and 7 DC outlets, including two USB-A ports (18W) and two USB-C ports (100W). As well as a Mennekes EV car charging port!
