The Dynamic Duo

From crypto currency and financial advising to event management and party planning, to studying dentistry, modelling and more, is there anything blossoming businesswomen and BFFs DIANA KOSTENKO & NKUBITO ESTELLE can’t do? Yes, it’s time to meet this month’s MAXIM Australia cover girls…

Hello, Diana and Nkubito, congrats on your MAXIM cover. How do you both feel?
Diana: Feeling very special to be on the cover of one of the best magazines in the world! It’s always fun to shoot with Rocky [Batchelor, photographer], too.
Nkubito: I feel fantastic. It’s a great opportunity to be on the cover of MAXIM Australia and very exciting to see our faces on the front page. It’s all very glamorous!

Well, you both look gorgeous. When do you feel sexy?
Diana: When we move and express our energy.
Nkubito: I feel sexy and beautiful pretty much all the time. I am my biggest fan and one of my biggest strengths is working on my self-love and making sure every day I look and feel better, inside and out. Being sexy and confident in your own body is the most valuable asset for your life.

What is your best asset?
Diana: My ability to overcome issues.
Nkubito: My look – I’m half Belgian and Rwandan. I’m yet to meet anyone similar to me and I embrace that, I love being different. Otherwise it’s my social skills, genuine kindness for the world, passion for life and my constant learning on how to be the best version of myself.

What would people be most surprised to know about you?
Diana: I love to communicate with people and I believe connection is everything. It can break you or it can make you.
Nkubito: I treat everyone equally and I’m very down to earth and grounded. I want to be seen as an inspirational figure for women and to help them reach a better level of confidence. It took me a long time to get to feel good in my body, I know how hard is it, so if I can do it, every women should be able to feel good in her body.

Give us a little more background about yourselves.
Diana: I’m always moving, I love change and every year of my life looks like a different one. I love to live in the moment, I’m always exploring new places, activities, education, fashion and style, self-education and changing my lifestyle, hobbies and the society around me.
Nkubito: I’m a 22-year-old girl, with a European and African mixed background, living in Sydney. I grew up in Belgium but had the chance to explore the world and go back to Africa, which is a big part of who I am today. At 19 I decided to come to Australia for six months to improve my English and experience a different culture. I fell in love with Sydney and I’m still here three years later, enjoying the weather and the warm people. I’m doing a bachelor’s degree in international business management.

When you’re not posing for MAXIM what do you do?
Diana: I’m a crypto currency’s trader, financial advisor, founder of the Elite Society Events and Level Up events management, who is currently studying dental in Australia. My future plan is to open up dental cosmetic clinics and dental technology laboratories Australia wide, and, of course, invest in crypto for it to become 85% of my income.
Nkubito: I have a few different industries I work in. I mainly work for restaurants and clubs as a guest host and run private events for different venues and private companies, too. Basically, we rent mansions all around Sydney and from there we will add a bar, some DJ’s, VIP area, pool area, dancers, singers, a chef, etc… I’m also an international model and do a lot of modelling gigs here and there. But for now, I’m focusing on building a name for my brand and on the events industry.
Diana: Elite Society Events is a social networking events company where I’m organising events for talented, successful people and bringing them together so they can connect. We host parties at luxury venues, like private yachts and villas, and guests can enjoy good conversation, DJs, food, dancers, fire shows and party all night.

How did you two meet and how long have you been friends?
Diana: We met three years at an event. When we see each other it feels like we exchange good energy and motivate each other. We have spiritual connection.
Nkubito: The connection was instant. We actually met in a restaurant and ended up spending the night together, just enjoying and chatting about life. We have a very strong friendship, the same values and we both have big ambitions. What’s interesting is the difference in culture between us — Diana’s Ukrainian – we have different mentalities but this didn’t stop us connecting on a deep level. I love that we are two extremely positive women, who are passionate about life and constantly expressing how grateful we are for it.

Diana, as a current dental student, would you ever date a man with terrible teeth?
Diana: Absolutely not. We live in a very modern world and everyone can go to the dental cosmetic clinic to make their smile look good.

What does a man have to do to try and win you over?
Diana: He should be real, easy-going and funny. I appreciate people with high morals and who always work on themselves, continually growing and developing.
Nkubito: I’m attracted to old school gentlemen, intelligence, having great conversation, being spontaneous and ready to handle a lot of energy. I have a good balance in life so no matter the age I enjoy people looking after their physical body and mental health.

Describe your perfect date.
Diana: Spontaneous, unpredictable and trying new things together without any expectations.
Nkubito: I enjoy receiving beautiful flowers, being picked up, going to a very nice, fancy restaurant with Italian food, a beautiful red wine and a beautiful view.

What have you learnt about men over the years?
Diana: Men are such delicate, tender human beings who need a woman’s care, love and support. Of course, everyone is different – different personalities, different priorities – but once a man finds a suitable woman, he is unbelievable!
Nkubito: That’s a hard question, as I believe every man is different and is having a different experience. Men have a very different perception on how they see the world, so between men and women communication is key – otherwise, you can lose it easily.

Would you ever date one of your social media followers?
Diana: Yes! Why not?!
Nkubito: I have never done it but if the connection is happening, why not?

What is your resolution for 2022?
Diana: This year I will work harder on building fundamentals for the future and focus on my career and education.
Nkubito: Being more consistent with my health, exercise and sleep more. More control, discipline and consistency for 2022. Also to upgrade my network and meet people with different stories and learn more from people who came from nothing.

What’s next for you two?
Nkubito: For now, nothing too exciting – just getting out of this next wave of COVID and taking care of myself and making my family first.
Diana: After this cover is released, I will organise an Elite Society event with big MAXIM magazine cover posters and the iconic MAXIM girls in their red jumpsuit costumes. Free drinks, food, DJ, swimming pool and it will all be Gatsby style! ■
