Jasmin & Tyana

The babes from the controversial Mike Tyson Ultra Tune TV ad, Jasmin Rainbow and Tyana Hansen, talk working with the former boxing champ, dating social media followers, sleeping naked and a whole lot more…

Hey Jasmin and Tyana, congrats on your MAXIM cover. How do you ladies, feel?
TYANA: Thank you so much. I feel so lucky to be able to have the opportunity to shoot for such a well-known Australian magazine and to be on the cover is just so surreal.
JASMIN: Yes, thank you! I’m really happy and excited about it. So many girls would kill to be featured in MAXIM, so to be on the cover with one of my good friends first go feels pretty amazing.

Tell us a bit about the shoot.
TYANA: It was awesome. We got to shoot at one of my favourite beaches in Fingal, near Tweed Heads, in NSW. I loved the idea behind it — shooting in lingerie at the beach is something I haven’t seen a lot of before, so it was really refreshing.
JASMIN: And that day had the most amazing sunset. The golden light looked stunning on the white lingerie.

What did you love most about the shoot?
TYANA: Being outdoors. I do a lot of shoots indoors and working inside for 12 hours can get old – being able to pose on a beach all day long almost feels like a day off.
JASMIN: I loved feeling the sun on my skin while being so free.

Any funny behind-the-scenes anecdotes you can share?
JASMIN: There were many people around that day who definitely got a peak of us changing in the bushes and crawling around on the beach half-naked.
TYANA: Probably the funniest thing about this shoot was after it. We were looking for a place to grab a bite to eat and we ended up at a local pub — the whole place was comical from the meat tray raffle to the locals gawking at us.

Well, you both look gorgeous. When do you ladies feel sexy?
TYANA: I know it’s a bit of a cliché but I feel most sexy in my trackies with no make-up on and a tan. I don’t know why but tanned skin just makes everything that much better.
JASMIN: I feel sexy when I’m getting ready to go out, where I’m half dolled-up but can be comfortable in a robe fresh out of the shower.

What is your best asset?
TYANA: My boobs or bum. I can’t decide.
JASMIN: My smile because my teeth are super white and I’m always being cheeky.

When you’re not posing for MAXIM what do you girls do?
TYANA: I spend a lot of my time travelling overseas and make a few trips to America a year shooting and filming for various commercials and publications. A lot of the work I do is part of my job as an Ultra Tune Ambassador.
JASMIN: I was at university studying business/accounting but I took a break from that to focus on my commitments for Ultra Tune including starring in the commercials, modelling and attending cool events. When I’m not working I love to travel or hangout with friends.

Tell us a bit more about yourselves.
TYANA: I’m an Aussie girl born and raised — just another typical beach bum — and modelling and acting wasn’t something I started taking seriously until a couple of years ago. Before that, I used to work in construction as a Workplace Health and Safety Officer.
JASMIN: I’ve always been someone who loves to try new things. I grew up in Cairns which is quiet but great because you know everyone. I moved to the Gold Coast two years ago and have since had great work opportunities and made heaps of new friends. In the last year I’ve been overseas to America and Spain which was amazing. I just want to travel, be around great people and try to set something up for myself where I don’t have to work too hard in the future.

Cool, what do you love most about each other?
TYANA: My favourite thing about Jasmin is her resilience — whenever she gets knocked down she always comes back that much stronger — she is a fighter for sure. Plus, she is always so much fun to be around and constantly has me in stitches.
JASMIN: I love that Tyana is so confident about her body. She will literally walk around naked in front of anyone and not even feel the slightest bit self-conscious. Not that she should with that body!

What would people be most surprised to know about you?
TYANA: Probably most surprising is that I spent my last year of high school studying and living in Germany. Even more shocking is that I still can’t speak German.
JASMIN: I get told, all the time, that my personality doesn’t match my looks. I think people usually expect me to be stuck up or standoffish, but I’m so silly and outgoing they end up being very surprised.

Tell us about doing the Ultra Tune TV commercial with Mike Tyson?
TYANA: It was such an experience. We shot it last year in Las Vegas and it was my first time being on set and it was really cool to see how it’s all pieced together. We were so lucky to be working with such an amazing crew.
JASMIN: Yeah, it was really exciting because it was also the first one I’ve done. I’d never been in front of a camera, so it was challenging to do some acting especially alongside a legend like Mike Tyson.

What was it like working with the former boxing champion?
JASMIN: Pretty much the coolest thing ever. He speaks in a really soft voice and is so friendly and funny you really don’t expect it.
TYANA: Yeah, he was awesome and so different to what I expected. He was super chilled and mellow and when he wasn’t in front of the camera he spent a lot of time in his trailer playing Xbox.

Did he put any moves on you?
TYANA: No, he didn’t, but his manager did invite me out to a Jay-Z concert the next night — I didn’t end up going.
JASMIN: There were definitely some people in his crew that wanted to party.

What was the funniest thing about working with Mike Tyson?
TYANA: The scene where Mike is roaring like a tiger – we did so many takes and we had to sit in the car, silent, trying not to laugh for about half an hour. It’s not so easy to do when you have Mike Tyson in front of you pretending to be a big cat.
JASMIN: Yeah, when Mike was “roaring” and putting his hands up like a tiger, the director literally had to yell “cut” about five times because we just couldn’t stop laughing.

What do you love most about the ad?
TYANA: That it doesn’t remind me of anything else. The content and idea is all so original – it really is a standout commercial.
JASMIN: Yes, I love that the ad has a sense of humour unlike any other commercials in the auto servicing industry.

What do you think about all the controversy surrounding the ad?
JASMIN: It’s so dumb. Everything seems to be offensive these days to the point that it’s actually taking away from real issues. The ads are meant to grab your attention and putting cute girls and a famous boxer in the commercial is a fun way to do that.
TYANA: Honestly, the ads are made to come across a certain way — they are different and they are memorable. It’s all in good fun and supposed to be taken in jest. Controversial, yes, but that’s what makes good television.

What’s the best way for a man to win his way to your heart?
JASMIN: He needs to make me feel like I’m important to him and that he has my back. I love it when a guy acts proud to have me on his arm and goes out of his way to make me feel beautiful and appreciated.
TYANA: It’s the little things that win me over, the small details a guy remembers — whether he rocks up with my favourite drink or plays my favourite song in the car. It’s always a nice feeling when you know someone is listening and taking notice.

Would you ever date one of your social media followers?
TYANA: Yes, of course. It depends on which one, though. I definitely have some good-looking people pop-up in my likes and inbox.
JASMIN: Sure! Unless they are stalking my every move, why not? If they’re following then they probably like me, and that’s great, we’re already halfway there!

If you had to take MAXIM on a date, what would it entail?
TYANA: We would go hot air ballooning over Byron Bay then have a picnic on the beach.
JASMIN: I would take you guys to a nice rooftop bar around sunset, for a drink, then we’d have a nice dinner and go for a stroll down to the beach at night.

What’s been the craziest night out you’ve ever had?
TYANA: I’ve had more than my fair share and they definitely aren’t appropriate to disclose, but I can tell you where they happened – Vegas, Barcelona and Ibiza.
JASMIN: There’s definitely been a few. Probably in Vegas when some girlfriends and I went to Britney Spears concert and started giving lap dances to each other in the seats. Things got pretty wild when we got back to the hotel.

What’s next on the horizon for you girls? Anything special coming up?
TYANA: I don’t want to give too much away, but the Ultra Tune team and us will be heading back to America later this year to work with yet another Hollywood star — maybe even more controversial than the last!
JASMIN: Yes, and we’re super excited!

Finally, finish this sentence: Public nudity is…
JASMIN: The best! I wish we could always be at the beach topless.
TYANA: Something that should be made legal and socially acceptable. ■
