Time to get physical with entrepreneur, lifestyle designer and brand ambassador MISHA SKOVA. Czech, please!…

Certainly a different type of MAXIM photo shoot, Misha, and kind of old school. Tell us more about it.
Yes, we were all about showcasing sports and spicing it up with some serious sex appeal. We wanted to shine a light on sports gear while oozing that confident, alluring vibe to remind everyone that women can totally own it in the sports world, too! And, well, why not celebrate all of that with a fun sexy shoot for MAXIM?!

Indeed. What is your best asset?
You know, when it comes to my physical features, I’m all about embracing my long legs – standing at 5-feet 10-inches, they’re a prominent part of me. That’s why I enjoy flaunting them with skirts and skinny jeans. But it’s not just about the looks – I also treasure my ability to connect on an emotional level. Being empathetic and having compassion for others is a superpower in its own right. It’s crucial to have a kind heart and remember that everyone is battling their own inner struggles. So, if you have the choice, always choose kindness.

Give us a little more background about yourself and your life story so far.
Originally hailing from the Czech Republic, my journey took an unexpected turn when my mum and I had to leave when I was just a baby. We embarked on a three-year adventure as refugees in Austria before finally finding our way to the USA. After spending some years in Boston, we went on a cross-country road trip and decided to call California home. It was a challenging path, but it’s what made us resilient and determined.

What would people be most surprised to know about you?
I’ve had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age, and I dived into the world of design when I was just 21. Over the years, I’ve launched several successful ventures, and currently, I’m steering the ship of a beach lifestyle brand I’m utterly passionate about – SKOVA. You can check us out at www.skova.co. Our brand embodies the essence of the outdoor lifestyle, with a focus on crafting exquisite beach towels, blankets, and picnic rugs, complete with chic carriers. It’s all about blending fashion, functionality, and the beauty of the great outdoors. Also perfect for Australia vibes!

How long have you been modelling?
I’ve been in the modelling game since I was 19, though it’s been more of an on-and-off gig. Whether I’m in front of the camera or not, my heart is all about embracing creativity, crafting designs, and cultivating brands. It’s just who I am, and it’s my way of living the dream!

When do you feel sexy?
There’s this undeniable magic in dressing up for a fancy dinner and drinks that just amps up my confidence. I’m a fashion enthusiast through and through, so slipping into something elegantly chic and feeling like a million bucks is my secret power booster. It’s like my personal express ride to the top floor.

What do you look for in a man?
You know, it’s quite amusing how things change over time. I used to think I had it all figured out when it came to what I wanted in a man, maybe two or even four years ago. But, boy, have relationships taught me a thing or two. After coming out of a pretty toxic two-year relationship, it hit me like a tonne of bricks – integrity, honesty, and kindness are the real MVPs. In my book, someone’s appearance or status should never be the foundation for a connection. Integrity, kindness, being giving with the heart is the most important for me.

What have you learned about men over the years?
Guys often come across as these tough, macho characters, guarding their hearts with this thick shell. But deep down, what they really crave is love. Sometimes, it might seem like they’re after something more physical or attention, but it’s all just a part of that search for connection and affection.

What’s one thing men should always know about women?
Women are not as enigmatic as they say. It all boils down to respect and kindness. Whether it’s a solid friendship or a sizzling romance, that’s the secret sauce for keeping things vibrant and healthy.

What’s the weirdest thing someone has sent you via social media?
Let me tell you, I’ve had my fair share of odd social media messages, but there’s one that takes the cake in the “weird and wacky” department. It was a person sending me a bunch of pictures of their pet tarantula. Like, who even expects that in their DMs, right? Blocked! LOL!

What’s next for you?
I’ve got a couple of exciting irons in the fire. First, there’s the expansion of my business, SKOVA, into the hotel industry. We’re cooking up some top-notch products tailored specifically for hotels, and I can’t help but feel a rush of enthusiasm for this new journey. The second project is a bit closer to my heart – I’m passionately working on a non-profit initiative to support women and children who have been through trafficking. My vision is to establish a comprehensive system that covers mental health, housing, and essential medical care. It’s a cause that’s deeply important to me, and I’m committed to making a positive impact.
