Elizabeth Marshall

Meet the model, adventurer and metal-head with a passion for business. What’s not to love? You’re welcome…

Tell us a bit about your shoot
Sean and I decided to do this shoot at my home in Texas, because we wanted everything to feel natural, relaxed and authentic. Everything from the pool to the bedroom to the decor around the house captures the spirit of elegance and refinery that I like to live in.

Have you ever been to New Zealand?
I haven’t been to New Zealand yet, but it’s been one of my top three dream destinations ever since I was a child. I adore natural beauty, and New Zealand is overflowing with natural splendour.

Where would you like to visit?
I’m a huge fan of scenic road trips, and I would love to travel the Glenorchy-Queenstown Road to see all of the different landscapes and scenic beauty along the way. I also love to hike and spend time outdoors, and the Wai-O-Tapu thermal wonderland and Huka Falls trail look like incredible places to visit.

When do you feel sexy and why?
I’m a huge perfectionist by nature, but I actually feel the most sexy when I’m a little bit undone. Whether that’s feeling exhausted and accomplished after a vigorous workout or just after waking up in the morning, I feel most alive when my natural beauty and inner happiness are the most radiant things that are shining through.

What is your best asset? Physically and otherwise?
Physically, my best asset are my eyes. I love how blue and bright they are, particularly in the sunlight. I’ve also worked since I was a child to become a good conversationalist, and I enjoy long talks with likeminded people about lofty subjects like history, philosophy and existentialism.

Give us a little more background about yourself and your life story so far
I was born in Alabama and raised near Houston, Texas, and I’ve always had an inquisitive mind and a deep love of beauty, both human and in the natural world around me. I love to travel and explore new places, and I have a passion for business pursuits. My most current venture involves a partnership with a CBD company. CBD is a non-psychoactive compound that’s derived from cannabis, and using it has changed my life so much that I wanted to get behind an initiative to bring it to other people as well.

What would people be most surprised to know about you?
I’ve been a huge heavy metal music fan since I was a kid. I spent a good chunk of my teenage years immersed in that culture and at live music shows, and my love for the genre continues to this day.

How would you describe yourself in five words?
Adventurous, inquisitive, passionate, loyal and intense

How long have you been modelling and what would you do if you weren’t modelling?: I’ve been involved in the modelling world since I was 18. If I weren’t modelling, I probably be even more heavily involved in the business world than I am now.

What have you learned about men over the years?
The greatest thing that I’ve learned about men over the years is how much they complement the female spirit. There’s something to be said about the concept of yin and yang, and the male and female essences embody that better than any other example that I can think of. Everywhere that women are weak, they are strong, and vice versa. I love that I can be a free, creative spirit with men as my protectors. We need them, and they need us.

What’s one thing that men should always know about women?
Sometimes we don’t want you to fix things for us, even though it’s in your nature to immediately want to do so. Sometimes we just need you to listen. Just being there as a shoulder to cry on or an ear to vent to is incredibly valuable and important to us.

What do you look for in a man?
Strength, stability, honestly and kindness.
Describe your ideal date: I love settings where I’m able to get to know someone. Dinner, a long walk or time spent somewhere in nature is always preferable to a movie or a noisy nightclub where it’s hard to hear or to talk.

What can we get you at the bar?
A seltzer and lime, please. I don’t drink alcohol!

Got a hangover cure?
Before I stopped drinking in my mid-20s, my go to was always a Bloody Mary in the morning. Hair of the dog always helps.

What’s your best hidden talent?
I’m a classical pianist! I started playing the piano when I was four years old, and I can still play lots of classical pieces from memory if I’m put in front of a keyboard.

Do you have any phobias?
I’ve had a tremendous fear of falling for as long as I can remember. I used to think I was afraid of heights, but it’s more a fear of falling from a great height that gets to me.

Who is your girl crush and why?
I absolutely love Margot Robbie. I think she’s absolutely gorgeous, and I love the way she carries herself. I’ve also been a lifelong fan of Grace Kelley for the same reasons.

What’s the weirdest/freakiest thing that someone has sent you via social media?
Inappropriate pictures. Guys, trust me- women DO NOT want unsolicited pictures of you doing things that should be left behind closed doors. Ever.

What is your motto in life?
DON’T QUIT. No matter how hard something becomes, no matter how insurmountable something seems, if you want it bad enough, you have to keep going. Most things that are worth having are not easy to attain, and a huge part of the joy in life comes from the sense of accomplishment that you get when you refuse to give up on things that are meaningful to you.

What’s next for you?
As I mentioned earlier, my latest business venture involves a partnership with Brothers N Arms CBD. CBD is a miraculous natural compound that provides medicinal relief for everything from chronic pain to anxiety to depression, and I’m excited to be a part of educating people about it and bringing it to markets and consumers around the world.

Finally, where would you like to be in five years?
Hopefully in New Zealand soaking up some sunshine and a whole new frame of natural wonder.
