Saic Ryzr

The motorbike and car amalgamation that you can wear…

Described as a fusion between a car and motorbike, the Ryzr – developed for SAIC’s EV ‘R’ brand – is a car that offers a much needed escape from today’s condensed areas by combining cutting-edge technical apparel with augmented reality.
Pretty much an electric vehicle that you wear, it is designed to offer the same agility as cycling does on the streets – but with a more stable yet chilled car-like seating. There is no need for a key, app, start button, or even voice command, it comes with a unique suit/jacket that must be fastened into tabs on the seat in order for it to start and head off.

The open-wheeled car styling reminds us of the X-Bow, and it takes much inspiration from a Formula One car too – common for many concepts. Carrying sporting twin seats separated by a central spine, the Ryzr offers unparalleled views of the road ahead that would make for the most thrilling ride, or drive. The hubless design of the front wheels may seem like a regular car on first look, but the rear wheels have actually been brought closer together. This is done in order to give the user/driver/rider greater control over the machine, with the possibility of offering pivoting ability at both ends in future.
It’s an unsual idea, but by exploring the unconventional, it may unlock new modes of transports for the future, along with new experiences and new ways to avoid paying for petrol or charging stations.
Of course, this concept is electrically charged, but it does a decent job of hiding any kind of mechanics/batteries away from view. Whether it’s used for driving around the city, for special emergencies, or for military use, one thing’s for sure – it would take Uber Eats to the next level come 2042.
