Pour yourself a very merry one with these fine festive cocktails while prepping and gulping down one seriously smokin’ ham. It’s what Santa would want. Cheers!

SMOKEHEAD’S SMOKING COLA

Smokehead High Voltage Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is for those who smoke tradition and dodge the drab. It’s an award winning whisky that’s as bold in taste as it is in attitude. In fact, it’s an all-out attack on your senses. The Smoking Cola is the perfect accompaniment to your Christmas dinner. So, breathe in the full-on flavour and feel the rush and burn of hot spirit hit as the mouth fills with smoke. Boom!

Ingredients:
● Orange slices
● Bitters
● 25ml Smokehead High Voltage Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
● Cola Reduction
● Ice

METHOD:

  1. Slice orange peel and place it into your glass.
  2. Add the drops of bitter and pound the peel to release the flavours
  3. Pour in the Smokehead and Cola reduction and top with ice
  4. To add the finishing touches, light some woodchips and smoke a jug
  5. Pour the smoke over the cocktail and enjoy

EDINBURGH GIN’s EAST COAST NEGRONI

Based in Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh Gin is ever-inspired by its gin-making heritage. Home to scientists, artists, philosophers and inventors, this gin is an artful distillation, capturing the spirit of these luminaries while respecting and paying tribute to our unique sense of place. As a small-batch distiller, they produce a dynamic range of gins for every occasion and their Negroni breathes new life into the classic aperitif, with the briny botanicals of their Seaside Gin and a hint of grapefruit to tempt the taste buds. The perfect Summer tipple.

Ingredients:
● 25ml Edinburgh Seaside Gin
● 25ml Suze Liqueur
● 25ml Campari
● 3 dashes of grapefruit bitters
● Sea salt and rosemary to garnish

Method:

  1. Frost the rim of the glass with rock salt and rosemary
  2. Fill the glass with ice before adding all the ingredients
  3. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary

The Fireball Fire-Ham

A drool-worthy 300ml glaze complete with heart-warming, iconic festive flavours, dialled up a notch with a mouthwatering, Fireball Whisky signature twist. Yes, behold the Fireball Fire-Ham — the perfect mix of sugar, spice and everything naughty n’ nice for your Christmas feast, including: golden syrup, orange marmalade, apple cider vinegar, yellow mustard, cinnamon, allspice, fennel and a generous pour of Fireball Whisky. Smmmmokin’!

SERVES 4 PEOPLE (approx. 2kg leg ham)

Ingredients:

● 150ml Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
● 150g Golden Syrup
● 100g brown sugar
● 1 tbsp Orange Marmalade
● 75ml Apple Cider Vinegar
● 2 tsp Yellow Mustard powder
● 1/4 tsp cinnamon ground
● 1/4 tsp allspice ground
● 1/4 tsp fennel seed
● 1 pinch salt flakes
● 1 pinch black pepper ground
● Cloves for studding ham

Method:

  1. Place all ingredients in a saucepan and bring slowly up to heat
  2. Blend ingredients well and apply half of the glaze to your prepared ham
  3. Pop the Ham into a preheated 170c oven making sure you have half a cup of water to your roasting tray
  4. Bake your ham for 1.5 hours basting with your extra glaze every 15-20mins
