The Krasinski Method

With the release of A Quiet Place Part II, JOHN KRASINSKI is proving himself to be Hollywood’s new renaissance man – blockbuster writer, director and actor. We look at five of his best performances from his brilliant career, so far…

Jim from The Office (2005-2013)
Krasinski’s Jim Halpert is a salesman at the Scranton, Pennsylvania, branch of the fictional paper company Dunder Mifflin. He whiles away the hours by winding up his boss Michael Scott (Steve Carell), pranking workmate Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) and pining for secretary Pam Beesley (Jenna Fischer). It’s all about the side-glances, the longing gazes at Pam and the moments he talks to the camera. Comedy gold.

Jack Silva in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016)
Krasinski signed up for a slice of Bayhem and a ticket to blockbuster land with this explosive actioner directed by the inimitable master of the over-the-top set-piece, Mr. Michael Bay. Krasinski, revealing that he has been spending considerable time pumping iron, plays a member of an elite security team defending an American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, against a wave of terrorist attacks.

Jack Ryan in Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan (2018 – present)
Following in the illustrious footsteps of Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine; Krasinski takes on the role of author Tom Clancy’s most famous character in this muscular television reboot of the spy thriller. The first season sees the CIA analyst wrenched from the security of his desk job and thrust into the field in pursuit of a rising Islamic extremist preparing to wage war with the US.

Himself in Some Good News (2020)
While the world was coming to terms with the grim reality of COVID-19 and the prospect of lockdowns, vaccinations and home-schooling; Krasinski decided he wanted to try and cheer people up. So, from his home, he shot his own web series Some Good News, focussing on the bright side of life. He shared inspiring stories, zoomed with the cast of Hamilton, hung out with his wife and reunited the cast of The Office. All while Robert De Niro and Brad Pitt read out the weather.

Lee Abbott in A Quiet Place & A Quiet Place Part II (2018/2020)
Krasinski co-wrote, directed and starred in this high-concept apocalyptic thriller about the hushed horrors of an alien invasion that sees blind extra-terrestrial nasties with super-sonic hearing slashing their way through the human race. Krasinski plays a father fighting for the survival of his pregnant wife, played by his actual wife Emily Blunt, deaf daughter (Millicent Simmonds) and nervous young son (Noah Jupe).
