Chloe Hurrell

Meet the 2017 MAXIM Australian Swimwear Model of the Year Chloe Hurrell. You’re welcome…

Hey, Chloe, congrats on your MAXIM cover. How does it feel?
Thank you so much. It’s is so exciting because I’ve wanted this for a few years now, so if I had to explain my feelings in one word it would be — surreal.

What did you enjoy most about this photo shoot?
Well, I live on the Gold Coast but flew to Sydney for the day, to shoot this, which was awesome. We got to shoot with an amazing 1959 Corvette, we took the car to a desolate road and just did whatever felt right. The leather interior was beautiful and we kept the mood really sexy. To balance this out I had a Maccas break — obviously – so by the end of the shoot I smelt like cheeseburgers, burnt rubber and oil. Amazing!

HOT! When do you feel sexy?
I feel sexy when there’s sexy music on. I don’t know why, but it doesn’t matter what I look like or where I am, if Beyonce’s “Partition” is playing I feel super sexy.

What’s your best asset?
I think my hair. It’s very thick and unruly – I’m a Leo so think of it as my mane.

For those who don’t know much about you, tell us a bit about yourself.
I was born in Sydney and lived in the beachy suburb of Maroubra as a kid, before moving to the Gold Coast and I’m never leaving. I have completed
three out of four years of a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours so just I have the ‘Honours’ bit to go. I am the oldest of five (two brothers and two sisters) so there is always something going on.

Why choose to study psychology?
I love understanding people’s motives, intent and reasons behind why they feel a certain way or why they do what they do. If we can all understand, connect and help each other a liitle more, the world would be a better place.

Nice one. How would you describe yourself in five words?
Sexy, sarcastic, determined, rebellious and curious.

What do you do when you’re not posing for MAXIM?
I’m either studying, at the gym, at the beach, working or travelling.

You are the 2017 MAXIM Australian Swimwear Model of the Year (ASMY). What went through your head when you won the title?
I was in complete disbelief. I watched the video footage the next day and I can’t believe how long I just stood there with my mouth on the floor. It was truly a complete shock, even still now.

Why did the judges chose you?
Maybe because I was being myself the whole time, just kept it natural and not over the top. This was also my second time trying to win this competition and I definitely came back with more confidence in myself.

Describe your overall experience during this competition.
It was an incredible week. The other entrants and I had a non-stop week and were judged on several different aspects, which I love. We got to work with some great photographers, we were able to informally meet the MAXIM crew, because personality is an important factor, and we were shooting all week to prepare the MAXIM ASMY Calendar – I can’t wait for it to come out this month. It was an amazing week and we were all so lucky to have the opportunities this competition provides.

How did you celebrate your win?
I got a little [see: very] drunk then went and had a hotdog and sat on the beach with the people who came to support me. It was such a great night.
