Alluring Ariana

Meet stunning MAXIM model and winner of the 2018 Face of Origin, ARIANA DEELEY. You’re welcome…

Hey Ariana, congrats on winning the 2018 Face of Origin. What’s the competition all about?
Thanks! The Face of Origin is basically a fight to the death — think Hunger Games. Just kidding! So, it’s a talent competition that runs every year, during the rugby league State Of Origin series, and girls from all over Australia and New Zealand, each representing either QLD or NSW, are judged in a number of rounds including photographic and stage. Then there is a winner from each state and an overall winner. This year it was me!

Why do you think you won?
I got up on stage and just had fun! Confidence and stage presence always play a huge role.

Are you a big rugby league fan?
To be honest, it’s not my favourite sport but I do enjoy a good game and love watching it live at the stadium with friends.

NSW won this year’s best-of-three series, why has a Queensland girl won the Face of Origin for the second consecutive year?
Third consecutive year, actually! I don’t know, we couldn’t let NSW win both I guess. It’s about time NSW won a series again, though!

For those who don’t know a lot about you, tell us a bit more.
To keep it as brief as possible, I just turned 25, come from a big family and have always been really ambitious, creative and adventurous. I grew up modelling, dancing and doing theatre, studied journalism after finishing high school and after a year of working post-grad, I decided life was too short to not go after what I really wanted. So I pursued acting for film and TV. It’s a tough industry but I’m currently working on moving to a location where I can be more involved. I’m still modelling, pursuing what I love and just living my best life.

So, when you’re not posing for MAXIM what do you do?
A few different things – I work at a law firm, I model and act. I also do content creation and freelance writing/blogging.

Describe your ideal date.
Some kind of fun activity – a trip to the mountains, salsa dancing, horse riding… followed by good food and stimulating conversation. I love simple dates, too, like outdoor cinemas.

If you had to take MAXIM on a date, what would it entail?
I’ve never been skydiving so, if MAXIM was up for it…

Excepted! What’s the best way for a man to win his way to your heart?
Personality is key and I need someone who makes me laugh!

Would you ever date one of your social media followers?
Only if they did daily shout outs with the hashtag #arianaisbest.

What’s the weirdest thing someone has sent you on social media?
Where do I start? Oh, this DM was entertaining… “I enjoy creating collages of women to make them appear like beautiful giantesses, towering over everything in breathtaking fashion. I’d love to make one for you, with your permission”. Then he sends a photo of a stripper, in a schoolgirl outfit, squatting over Seattle.

Nice guy! Got a hangover remedy?
I don’t really get them but I, mean, pizza cures everything, right.

Naturally. What’s your worst habit?
Spilling food and making a mess in the kitchen. It truly is a talent!

What’s been the most embarrassing moment in your life?
I’ve dated some questionable people, does that count?

What is your motto in life?
Start each day with a grateful heart.

Where would you like to be in five years?
Acting in blockbuster films. Watch this space! ■
