Brittany Bloomer

Congrats on your MAXIM shoot, Brittany, you look great!
Thanks. I’m super excited as I have always admired all the girls who shoot with and feature in MAXIM, so I was really looking forward to getting involved with you.

Happy to have you. What was your fave part of the day?
It would have to be when I saw the ’59 Cadillac for the first time. I literally gasped. It’s such a beautiful car and definitely the stand out in the shoot.

A close second we would’ve thought. What do you do when you’re not posing for MAXIM?
MC’ing, modelling and TV presenting. I started out doing TV presenting work as soon as I finished Year 12 — I would produce, edit and film it all myself. This helped get my foot in the door with more opportunities like modelling, pageants and, of course, more TV work. Since then, I have travelled internationally for jobs and even represented Australia a few times in different international beauty pageants.

And you’re also involved in animal welfare work?
Yes, I started my own charity called Pound Paws. I have been working on this project for a couple of years and it involves helping re-home dogs and cats in pounds across Australia through an online search engine on the website. It is my mission to not only educate the Australian public about the dangers of choosing to shop instead of adopting a pet, but to also implement a no-kill policy in all pounds across the country. I’m also an ambassador for the Animal Welfare League of NSW and Youth Off The Streets’ #Laceitup Campaign.

Nice work! How would you describe yourself in three words.
Bubbly, happy, and outgoing.

What’s your best asset?
Well, I’ve been told it’s my positive personality.

When do you feel sexy?
If I’m around a guy that I really like.

Well, you are currently single, so what type of guy are you attracted to?
One who is always up for something fun to do and is also my best mate.

So, are cheesy pick-up lines OK with you?
The more terrible the pick-up line, the funnier it is! Nothing breaks the ice like a lame pick-up line to laugh over. My perfect date is one with lots of laughing.

Good to hear, but where do men go wrong with women?
By not treating one another as mates. We’re not actually that different, you know? Just treat women with respect and you’ll reap the rewards.

Would you ever date one of your Facebook, Twitter or Instagram followers?
If they’re lovely, why not?

From your social media accounts we see you love a night out with your girlfriends. What do these nights entail exactly?
Lots of dancing. There’s nothing I enjoy more than hanging out with my Squad! These days it doesn’t matter what we do, as long as we’re all together we always have a lot of fun.

Is there a song you have on repeat at the moment?
I just looked at my ‘most played’ playlist — “You Were Right” by RÜFÜS. I can play the same song over and over again.

What’s been the most embarrassing moment in your life so far?
When I was younger I tried to sneak into my local pub but ended up stuck on the roof. Everyone inside the pub could see me — I was literally like a deer in headlights.

Now for the big question: What is your stance on public nudity?
It’s pretty damn hilarious… at the cricket.

What do you want to do next in your career?
I want to continue living in a happy state of mind and doing what I love. I’m always interested in trying out different types of TV presenting, having worked in fashion, sport, travel, and real estate, but being a weather girl could be fun. ■
