Alison Bowles

This month we get more acquainted with this beautiful blogger, entrepreneur and American model…

Tell us a bit about yourself, Alison.
I’m a model, entrepreneur, travel blogger and founder of @YOUvRadiance, which is a non-profit foundation I started after being diagnosed with skin cancer at 22. We educate both men and women on skin cancer prevention and detection methods with our nationwide events. As a former NHL Ice Girl, it’s safe to say I’m a hockey fanatic, but I’m also a goofy girl who loves birds and I’m a huge foodie, too – I was even a taste tester on the Food Network.

Wow! What else can you tell us about your life and career so far?
Besides my career in modelling, I’m very proud of the businesses I’m a part of — Slay Miami (@SlayMiami), which is America’s first CBD Sports Recovery & Wellness Center. Currently we have two upscale, futuristic Miami locations and we are expanding rapidly. And Lacy Coe (@LacyCoe) is a trendy online clothing boutique — we initially started Lacy Coe for fun but it has grown to become a successful brand and leader in female fashion trends. Also, letting you in on a little secret, I’m in the works of developing a cosmetic line but can’t reveal the details quite yet. Stay tuned!

Tell us about Wander In Heels — is this another one of your many businesses? Wander In Heels – wanderinheels.com – is my travel blog. A lot of my followers are interested in my travels and I think there’s a lot to learn from them. I’ve been to over 10 different countries, immersing myself in new cultures and broadening my horizons. You can find links to my entire wardrobe along with in-depth travel guides, fun facts and budget tips to each destination I have visited so far.

Where’s one place you would love to travel once COVID-19 allows it?
My list of dream destinations is endless. However, my modelling trip to Dubai got cancelled due to COVID-19, so this may be the first place I travel to.

Have you ever been to Australia?
I have not yet visited Australia but I’m soon planning a trip. I want to visit Australia to experience the culture and wildlife – especially the birds. I have a few friends who live in Australia and who I would like to visit, too.

As our Woman of the World this month, what’s one thing you’d change about the world?
More love, less hate.

When you’re not posing for MAXIM or working on your businesses, what else are you doing?
You can catch me at a hockey game, working out, eating or travelling.

Your MAXIM feature is stunning. When do you feel sexy?
Thanks! I feel sexy being confident in my own skin. There is nothing sexier than feeling confident in who you are and the value you bring to the table.

What do you find sexy about men?
I like a man who is humble and a hard worker. It’s sexy when a man knows his purpose. I also think a man in a nice suit is super attractive, with a little swagger.

How does a guy win his way to your heart?
Character and consistency. Also, lots of food!

What’s one thing a guy should always remember about women?
Women deserve nothing but respect and honour. We are also not as complicated as men think. Sometimes we are the happiest with just the little things.

Describe your perfect date.
ANYTHING involving food. And while travelling is even better.

What’s the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
Do your best and God will do the rest!

What’s next for you?
Within the next couple years I hope to compete at Miss USA and take my modelling career to new heights while I’m still young. I believe my international businesses will have been expanded to new markets and I hope my cosmetic line I’m working on takes off. Most importantly, I hope I’m able to make a difference in the lives of others.
