So, until next month, sit back and enjoy this super-sizzling special edition of MAXIM. Cheers! Santi Pintado — EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
1 – Margot Robbie
The Oscar nominee further cemented her status as Tinseltown’s leading lady with her turn as Hollywood legend Sharon Tate in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. And if you thought she wowed us this year, in 2020 Margot’s star is set to climb even higher when she reprises her role as anti-heroine Harley Quinn in DC’s Birds of Prey. Then there’s her very lucrative gig as the face of Chanel and a score of upcoming projects of which she’s attached as star, producer or both. All hail the queen indeed.
2 – Parnia Porsche
From shooting Ultra Tune commercials to gracing many a cover of MAXIM, Parnia is the perennial hottie. With her signature hourglass figure and crazy curves, PP is everyone’s favourite Ultra Tune Rubber Girl and her co-stars from the quirky TV ads are some of her biggest fans. The latest being first-time male MAXIM cover star Charlie Sheen, who Parnia appeared with on aforementiond cover. Miss Porsche now has plans to branch further into acting and has moved to L.A. to pursue her dream. It’s a long way from when we first met Parnia, who has also tried her hand at boxing and rapping among other ventures, but rest assured whatever she does next you will hear it here first.
3 – Sam Kerr
Women’s soccer superstar Sam Kerr has been pulling triple duty as captain of Perth Glory in the W-league, a forward for the Chicago Red Stars and now captain of the Australian national team. Though the Westfield Matilda’s ultimately bowed out early at this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, Sam led the way and is part of the current wave of Aussie female athletes who are performing exceptionally on the world stage. The former Young Australian of the Year continues to serve as the perfect ambassador for her chosen sport at home and abroad and befitting her influence in football, Nike chose Sam, over other Aussie athletes such as Ben Simmons and Nathan Day, as the lead face for their marketing campaigns in 2019, making her the highest-paid Australian female soccer player of all time. Play it again, Sam!
4 – Elisha & Renee Herbert
As we at MAXIM prove every month, gorgeous models are hardly in short supply, but what sets Elisha and Renee Herbert apart? They’re a package deal! The identical twins boast a whopping 1.4 million+ Instagram followers each, and regularly delight fans with amazing swimwear and lingerie shots in dazzling exotic locales. On the editorial front, this double act has been busy shooting for both MAXIM and Carine Roitfeld’s ultra-cool CR Fashion Book – fashion’s equivalent to a seal of approval. These ladies have the fashion and commercial modelling worlds at their feet. Big things await. #twinning
5 – Angie Kent
We’ve watched her dissect reality television for years on Gogglebox, witnessed her eat all kinds of horrible shit on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Outta Here! and now Angie Kent is taking centre stage as the leading lady in The Bachelorette. WIth her quick-wit and hilarious one-liners it’s easy to see why Angie is a fan favourite and we can’t get enough of her bogan-esque ways. She may have swapped the Goggle couch for rose ceremonies, but we can see our Angie continuing to keep it real. Go get it!
6 – Ellyse Perry
Next up to bat — Aussie cricket superstar and HOT 100 Top 10 newbie, Ellyse Perry. The world No.1 all-rounder in women’s cricket, Ellyse is the golden girl of the sport who was also recently voted best player of the women’s Ashes series for 2019. With Australia set to host the ICC women’s T20 next February, the spotlight will be firmly on Ellyse. And we have no doubt that she will deliver.
7 – Sophie Monk
Last year’s ULTRA TUNE MAXIM HOT 100 No.1, Ms Monk is not only the girl from the Goldie we all love — she is a reality TV mainstay, one-time Blink 182 video vixen and, as she would probably put it, a bloody national treasure, Darl. And, after 20 years in the public eye, Soph is funnier and more relatable than ever. Never change, Monkster. Never.
8 – Renee Somerfield
Instagram influencer, owner of Somerfield Swim and a four-time MAXIM cover girl, Renee is the embodiment of #HOT all year round. It’s only natural that, for someone who admits to owning more bikinis than clothes, her swimwear line is going great guns. Renee, who has featured in MAXIM frequently over the last 100 issues, is part of the wave of MAXIM models turned entrepreneur, and we couldn’t be more proud!
9 – Olivia & Isabelle Mathers
From Gigi and Bella to Cara and Poppy, modelling loves a sister act. Swimwear models and stunning influencers Olivia and Isabel Mathers are the Gold Coast’s own big sister/little sister package — there’s even a blonde and a brunette. The duo, who are in fact two years apart, have an impressive 1.6 million followers between them and are definitely ones to watch
in 2020. Watch this space.
10 – Shanina Shaik
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion show may have been cancelled this year, but that hasn’t stopped Aussie Angel Shanina Shaik from spreading her wings. She called time on her brief marriage to DJ Ruckus, launched a clothing line with Bondi-label Johansen and was shot by the legendary Gilles Bensimon for U.S. MAXIM. With a fresh attitude and a lease on life, Shanina is definitely, er… Shaik-ing it up.
